Afraid of loving again — then willing to bend.
I was afraid of loving someone again
I was resistant, resultant, unwilling to bend.
I had locked away, and forgotten about my heart.
I built up stone walls to keep it far apart.
And hidden from the world, safe from the pains of love.
I lowered my eyes, focusing on my work not caring what was above.
Then I met you, and my resistance melted away.
The stone wall began to crumble under the pressure of your gaze.
A small opening broke free,
Allowing a portion of my heart to be seen.
And through this small crack, through this split in the wall.
The radiance of your love touched my heart.

I was afraid of loving someone again
I was afraid of loving someone again
“I was afraid of loving someone again.”
