The Game

She did not catch the eye — until she held the heart.

The Game
When I first saw her she did not catch my eye,
But now when I see her my heart begins to sigh.
Was I blind until now, not to have seen her face?
She was always before me, now her I want to embrace.
Should I tell her that I care, and run the risk again.
Or should I look away saying it never could have been.
Am I willing to do what it takes to hold this one near.
Am I willing to be hurt again and shed a thousands tears.
For to taste of the joy, my heart must know of pain.
I know what could happen from playing this risky game.
I've lost to many times before not to be a little scared.
Can I withstand the pain, the pain I may have to bear.
Is the joy worth the misery, or has it ever been.
Am I ready to take another chance, and play this game again?

“When I first saw her she did not catch my eye,”

The Game
