One Year
A full orbit around the day two lives met.
It has now been a year since the two of us have met.
So much has transpired between now and that blessed event.
It seems like only yesterday we said our first goodbye.
I remember holding you tight, knowing when you left me I would cry.
For I had never been so touched, by a heart so warm and true.
I had never felt so alive, you were like someone I already knew.
The hours we spent together that night, now just over one year ago.
Was like catching up with an old friend, not meeting someone I did not know.
You have changed my life for the good, and helped make me who I am.
Your strength and example toward me, have given shaped to this lost man.
You showed me what I was missing. You showed me the vital part.
You taught me how to live. You filled my empty heart.
I hope for a distant future, where the two of us will be allowed to become one.
For it would be at that point my life would start, when our eternity has just begun.
“It has now been a year since the two of us have met.”
