Issue 36 · One poem
Two Weeks
A short span that rearranges the heart's furniture.
As my heart reflects over the past two weeks,
I smile, as your name my mouth softly speaks.
I am confused and unsure of what has come to pass,
Only knowing I desire that this new love will last.
At night I close my eyes, your face is still before my mind.
As I gaze into this image, only beauty and perfection I find.
Even then, when I know that your not really there.
I can't help myself from trying to run my fingers through your hair.
And during the day, you are always on my mind.
You are the reason that a smile on my face other do find.
I am now so full of love, and I am happy once again,
I long to see you constantly, and gently caress your soft skin.
I may never understand, how in my life I have found,
The love and affection of an angel, to whom I wish to be bound
In fact, the only think of which I am sure,
Is that I am not worth of this gift, of a love this pure.
Amazed by your beauty, you have stolen my heart away,
For it is with you I wish I could begin and end all of my days.
I am thankful for your love, a love that has touched my soul.
Although I feel unworthy, your complete happiness is my only goal.
While it has only been two weeks, I feel I have know you for all time.
Is this feeling of closeness just a coincidence, or is it a sign?
Of things to come, of a future we might have one day.
Until we may know and understand, in love with you I choose to stay.
