My Smile

The smile returned when care became possible again.

· · ·

Once again a smile resides upon my face,
Where before only emptiness was found.
The pain of loss was constantly present,
And now an interest in you abounds.
You have blessed my life in ways,
In which you may never understand.
You have given me the opportunity to care,
And have helped to heal a broken man.
I feel our lives in some ways are similar,
Or that we have shared a common past.
For we have both been hurt in love,
And have yet to find a love that will last.
Unsure of what I want,
In my life at this present time.
I am asking you for nothing,
except that you may find
A new happiness in my friendship,
And a pleasant comfort in my soul.
For you have provided for me a way,
That within me my joy may grow.
So I'm ask you not to feel bad,
Like you have done something wrong,
For in my eyes you're an angel
And you have deserved this all along.
That someone may care for you,
In the way in which God has meant.
For there is no doubt in my mind,
That you are truly heaven sent.
Astonished by your beauty,
You can easily melt my heart,
All you have to do is smile,
And I seem to fall apart.
So enjoy this present time,
And allow me to share with you.
This lonely love I carry,
As I search for someone new.

“You have given me the opportunity to care,”

My Smile
